On my next attempt, I still got the CMOS checksum messages, and then F1 (or Del) just goes to blank screen with flashing cursor (underline) top left. Instead I got a blank screen with a new error msg across the top. I hit F1 so as to get to the blankish screen to do a reboot. Just got a new error whilst trying to swap the cds. Just tried the XP cd, in case it was a problem with the other cd, but it still ignores it. Please re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS setup and remember to save before quit! I did that, and was then getting this message. In my Googling, i came across one chap who said removing (and replacing 10 minutes later) the cmos battery fixed him. I have tried booting from a recovery cd, but the cd never runs. Neither of them do anything, except throw me to a screen with a flashing cursor (underline) top left, which then just ignores me. ![]() PXE-E01 XC1 vendor and device ids do not match PXE-E04 error reading PCI configuration space.99 PXE-E04 error reading (PCI configuration space.00 Then gives one of these error messages (it is fickle). I have a desktop PC with Gigabyte GA-8S661FXM-775 motherboard. (If this is too long, you can jump down a 3rd of the post, as I suspect that the PXE errors, may not be relevant now ?) ![]()
